Mayo named to presidential search committee
Monroe Mayor Jamie Mayo was named the 14th member of the University of Louisiana-Monroe's presidential search committee.
News of Mayo's appointment to the committee was announced Tuesday during a legislative appreciation luncheon hosted by the Monroe Chamber of Commerce.
Mayo addressed the committee at last week's public forum on campus. He was later appointed as an advisory member upon the recommendation of University of Louisiana System Board chairman Winfred Sibille.
"Mayor Mayo has a deep appreciation of the role ULM plays in the economic and cultural vitality of this region, and I believe he will be a valuable addition to the search committee," said UL System president and ULM presidential search committee chairman Randy Moffett.
