Total non-farm employment for the Monroe region was 76,100 for June 2010, a decrease in 500 jobs from the previous month.

June's employment statistics were recently released by the Louisiana Workforce Commission.
According to LWC, goods-producing employment in the Monroe region for June showed no change from May while gaining 300 jobs from a year ago. The service-providing sector in the Monroe region lost 500 jobs from May to June, while showing an increase of 200 jobs from June 2009.

The unemployment rate in the Monroe region was 8.8 percent in June, which was an increase over May's unemployment rate of 7.5 percent. The unemployment rate for the Monroe region in June 2009 was 9.1 percent.
