Monroe plans series of public meetings In February, during Mayor Jamie Mayo's state of the city address, he informed the public that he, Monroe City Council members, and various city department and division heads would set up a series of meeting in each Monroe City Council District.
"All too often our citizens are not able to attend a city council meeting, a press conference or other events. Over the next month, we are utilizing neighborhood schools, community centers and our public safety center as venues for grassroots conversations with our constituents."
City Council Chairman Jay Marx added, "This is a time for our constituents to hear about the many positive projects we are working on. This is also a prime opportunity for them to share ideas and concerns about various things taking place within the community."
