ESPN announces local boxing card
The Monroe Civic Center will host a live national broadcast of "Wednesday Night Fights" on Aug. 18.
The popular boxing show will air the matches live on ESPN. Local fighters will compete before the live broadcast, which will begin at 7 p.m.
The event will bring some of the top contenders in the world to Monroe to compete in featured television bouts.
