Range opens for archers

Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office officials were joined Wednesday by a number of local and state officials and others for the grand opening of the Sheriff's Archery Range.

The archery range is housed at the Ouachita Parish Training Center and Rifle Range, located at 255 Richard Fewell Road in western Ouachita Parish.

Next week, the archery range will host the McKenzie ASA Pro/Am Classic Championship, an event that will bring thousands of archery enthusiasts to Ouachita Parish. It is expected that the event will pump more than $1 million into the local economy.
