Auto accident at Cheniere Lake claims Calhoun woman
A Calhoun woman was killed Saturday, July 17, and two others suffered minor injuries in a single vehicle accident on La. 3033.
According to State Police, at approximately 2:20 a.m., July 17, a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling north on La. 3033. As the vehicle attempted to negotiate a slight curve to the right, it crossed the center line and ran off the west side of the road. The vehicle then traveled down an embankment and entered Cheniere Lake.
Jessica Kelley, 28, was pronounced dead at the scene. State Police could not determine if she was wearing a seatbelt.
