Local softball team finishes third at state
With the chants of "West Monroe! West Monroe!" ringing through the air, the overflow crowd made for an atmosphere as spirited as a chilly Friday night on the gridiron.
But this passionate battle cry was for something other than the local high school football team.
Supporters turned out in large quantities to back the West Monroe All-Stars team in the Ponytails Softball State tournament on a humid Tuesday night at the Biedenharn Sports Complex's Wilhite Field.
