The Ouachita Parish Police Jury has no legal authority to regulate roadside
animal sales in the parish, according to parish attorney Jay Mitchell.

Mitchell disclosed his opinion on the matter at the police jury's regular meeting Monday.

Mitchell recently was asked to determine if the parish had any authority to regulate roadside animal sales.
