Richwood asks police jury for road money

Richwood Mayor Steve Hunter has asked the Ouachita Parish Police Jury to consider providing some funding to Richwood for several road projects.

Hunter spoke to the police jury during its meeting last week where he discussed some of the infrastructure projects the town is trying to complete.

For more than 10 years, Richwood has received roughly 8 percent of the parish's transportation funding from the state. The parish gets roughly $1 million each year from the state for its parish transportation fund.
