City employees collect water for homeless

Monroe city employees collected cases of water to provide Volunteers of America with water to provide to area homeless people.

Mayor Jamie Mayo encourages businesses and local groups and organizations to assist Volunteers of America in this effort to help local homeless people.

"We all know firsthand the devastating effects of a Louisiana summer. The city council and I are encouraging our city employees, local businesses, churches, youth groups and residents to donate a case of water to support Volunteers of America in this effort to provide relief to our homeless," Mayo said.
