The trial against former Richwood Mayor Ed Harris, who is charged with one count of malfeasance in office, is set to begin Monday, July 12 in Fourth Judicial District Court.

Almost one year ago, Louisiana State Police charged Harris with one count of malfeasance in office following an investigation into the town of Richwood's finances.

State Police investigated Harris at the urging of Mayor Steve Hunter, who succeeded Harris, when he first took office in 2008.
