McKesson Corporation and IASIS Healthcare announced this week an extension of their strategic relationship as IASIS plans to expand its use of healthcare information technology (HIT) by completing its suite of McKesson Horizon Clinicals solutions.

This latest expansion of IASIS' healthcare information system, part of the hospital company's continued efforts to deliver high quality patient care, includes physician documentation as well as computerized provider order entry (CPOE) and will be deployed across all 16 of the IASIS hospitals over the next 12 months.

"As an early champion of the HIT movement, IASIS has long been operating its hospitals from a sophisticated, single-platform, fully integrated clinical information system," said David White, chairman and chief executive officer of IASIS Healthcare.
