Area sheriffs sign crisis agreement

The Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office and several other sheriff's offices in north Louisiana agreed to partner in assisting each other during times of crisis.

Late last week, the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office signed a cooperative endeavor agreement with Bienville, Claiborne, Jackson, Lincoln, and Union Parish sheriffs offices.

"My motto for years has been teamwork, and this is the same way with all these other sheriffs," said Sheriff Royce Toney. "This is the best law enforcement has been in the great state of Louisiana, with all the cooperation we get with our brother law enforcement agencies. You saw it with the funeral of Cpl. J.R. Searcy back in March, with the outpouring of concern by law enforcement."
