Tax issue derails Monroe company's uniform bid

Companies that want to bid on projects with the city of Monroe must ensure they are up to date in paying their taxes to the city.

During Tuesday's regular city council meeting, the council rejected bids by KMS Uniforms in Monroe because the business was delinquent on its sales tax payments to the city. KMS Uniforms was the lowest bidder to provide the city with uniforms for Monroe Fire Department.

With the rejection of KMS Uniforms' bid, the city council will revisit the bid process for uniforms for Monroe Fire Department and possibly select a low bidder during the city council's next regular meeting.
