Monroe's oldest radio station, Talk 540 KMLB, will celebrate 80 years of broadcasting on July 1.
KMLB owner Bob Holladay says, "This is a milestone! The proudest part is that KMLB is still local and family owned in today's world. Very few media outlets in Monroe are locally owned."

When asked about the future of KMLB, Holladay said, "I am looking forward to the new transmission facility, which will greatly increase the coverage area served by KMLB."

"Talk 540 is one of the oldest and most important radio station's in the state," said Talk 540 Program Director Robert "Rob" Redding Jr. "Though its ownership and formats has changed over the station's 80 year legacy, the station's commitment to informing the community remains unwavering."
