Monroe Jaycees is gearing up to put on its annual Fourth of July celebration at Forsythe Park.
This year's event will take place from 2-9 p.m. along the Ouachita River in Forsythe Park.

Pyro Engineering Inc. of New York will conduct the fireworks show at this year's celebration.
"We anticipate a spectacular display with lots of shapes and colors to keep spectators in awe," said Melinda Robinson, individual development vice president for Monroe Jaycees.

"This year's event will feature a hot dog eating contest provided by Coney Island Connection," she said.
