Obesity summit scheduled for August
One of the next big projects for the West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce will entail helping the Ouachita Parish school system tackle childhood obesity.
Sponsored by Community Trust Bank, the chamber will conduct an event aimed at addressing childhood obesity from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16, at the West Monroe Convention Center.
Mary Ann Newton, president of the West Monroe chamber, said a number of speakers were scheduled to speak at the event.
