ULM duo excels at NCAA meet

A pair of University of Louisiana-Monroe track team members recently returned from the NCAA Outdoor Track&Field National Championships in Eugene, Ore.

Luther Ambrose finished third in the finals of the 100-meter dash while Kyle Kent finished 15th in the nation in the finals of the men's javelin throw.

Ambrose was at the top of his game at the championships as he turned in his fastest 100-meter time ever. Ambrose was clocked at 10.12 seconds to take third place in the race. Jeff Demps of the University of Florida won the 100-meter title with a time of 9.96 seconds while Kentucky's Rodney Sorrillo was second as he finished just ahead of Ambrose with a time of 10.09.
