Allen uses karate as tool to teach, cope, grow When talking about karate on the local level, the Bob Allen Dojo quickly will enter into most conversations. It is as synonymous with karate in Ouachita Parish as football is with Friday.
But who is this man who has taught the art of karate to so many since opening his Monroe dojo doors in 1975? How did he "lose his heart" during a time of great family challenges and then find the strength and faith to continue to teach local youth the art of karate?
