Consent decree puts ULM in defensive posture The University of Louisiana-Monroe must take a number of steps in order to prevent any further age discrimination at the university, according to a recently signed consent decree. The decree stemmed from an age discrimination and retaliation lawsuit that was settled in April between ULM and Dr. Van McGraw, former professor and dean of the College of Business Administration.
Besides the $450,000 ULM was ordered to pay McGraw, the university also must provide the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) with 10 semi-annual reports every six months.
According to the consent decree, the 10 reports must include "all complaints of age discrimination of which the defendant (ULM) becomes aware," as well as "any complaints of retaliation for activity protected by the ADEA, made during the compliance period of the decree." .....For the full story, subscribe to the The Ouachita Citizen's NEW E-Edition! |
