Some Jackson Street residents in southern Monroe are concerned with a property owner's desire to be annexed into the city of Monroe. They also are worried about the property owner's plans to build 40 residential houses there.

The Jackson Street residents, who live in Green Acres subdivision, voiced their concerns to the Ouachita Parish Police Jury at its regular meeting Monday.

A Green Acres resident, Evory Johnson, said residents also were concerned about possibly being annexed into the city of Monroe.
