Monroe attorney Charlie Heck Jr. will seek election to Monroe City Court in the Oct. 2 election.
Heck is running to succeed Judge Fred Amman. Amman was elected to the 4th Judicial District Court in February.

Amman was elected to fill the void at 4th Judicial District Court created by Judge Marcus Clark, who was elected to the state Supreme Court last fall.

Heck is a 1998 graduate of LSU Law School and a recipient of the Outstanding Young Lawyer Award. He has served as president of the Fourth Judicial Bar Association, which is comprised of Ouachita and Morehouse parishes.
