Warner runs with Inspiration

As the Peak Performance Track Club of Monroe continues their summer tour in Lafayette this weekend, the club has quickly put some local youth athletes in the state spotlight. One of those up and coming distance runners, Andrea Warner of Monroe, has been preparing for that spotlight all her life.

Warner, 14, will be a freshman at Neville High School in the fall after a successful stint at Richwood Junior High School where she began her track career — much like her mother, Yolitha Warner, who ran for Epps High School.

"It is wonderful to see her running," Yolitha Warner said. "And she really likes it. So it makes me feel real good."

It was her mother who inspired Andrea Warner to take up the sport.
