Hoffmann backs Tucker in state budget impasse Rep. Frank Hoffmann is in favor of the Legislature immediately repaying money it takes from the state's Rainy Day trust fund to shore up deficit spending in the current fiscal year.
Hoffmann's position is in line with House Speaker Jim Tucker, who has been at odds with Senate President Joel Chaisson over shoring up a deficit in the current fiscal year budget while crafting a balanced budget for the 2010-2011 fiscal year, which begins July 1.
"We have to remain fiscally responsible," said Hoffmann, R-West Monroe.
