Shareholders approve official name change
During CenturyLink's annual meeting, shareholders approved changing the company's legal name from CenturyTel, Inc. to CenturyLink, Inc.
The company had been operating under the CenturyLink brand name since the second half of 2009.
CenturyLink was selected as the brand name to reflect a forward-looking company that is committed to linking the country together, connecting people and creating opportunities.
