CCS wins title The Claiborne Christian School Crusaders (19-14) took down Grace Christian School 5-3 on Saturday morning to win their third consecutive LHSAA Class C state championship.
"These seniors have worked so hard," CCS head coach Chad Olinde said. "Just a great group who are hard working kids. They have shown the younger kids that if you work hard your dreams can come true. They were not always the most talented group but they worked really hard to be successful and they taught our younger players a lot."
Senior Jake Bell has been the starting and winning pitcher for the Crusaders in each of those games and was no different on Saturday with a solid 5.1 inning performance — including a RBI single to aid the Crusaders on offense. For the full story, subscribe to the The Ouachita Citizen's NEW E-Edition! |
