Behind a solid offensive punch, the Northlake Christian School Wolverines topped the Sterlington Panthers 7-3 to claim the 2010 LHSAA Class 2A baseball state championship late Saturday night.

NCS jumped out to a 7-2 lead when the game was postponed following the sixth inning because of lightning and thunderstorms around Fair Grounds Field in Shreveport.

Play resumed more than an hour later and NCS closed out the Panthers to claim their second consecutive championship.
