With an amazing seven-inning pitching performance by senior Logan Dopson, the Sterlington Panthers earned their way into the Louisiana High School Athletic Association Class 2A baseball state tournament with a 7-5 win over No. 2 Evangel Christian Academy of Shreveport.

The state tournament begins Friday at Fair Grounds Field in Shreveport.

Sterlington (18-14) will play No. 22 Episcopal of Baton Rouge on Friday night while No. 4 John Curtis is matched with Northlake Christian School in the other semi-final game.
