Ouachita Parish Schools enjoyed another successful year as the school board anticipates a budget surplus and good marks by students on standardized tests.

That's according to Superintendent Dr. Bob Webber, who spoke with The Ouachita Citizen Tuesday about the approaching end to the 2009-2010 school year.

"I think we will be one of the top school systems in the state as far as test scores, and we'll have a surplus, so we've done a good job handling our finances," Webber said.
