Former state Sen. Charles Jones' tax evasion trial will be moved to Shreveport after U.S. District Court Judge Robbie James granted a change of venue Tuesday afternoon.
Jury selection for Jones' trial began Monday in U.S. District Court in Monroe. James had hoped to have a jury seated by Monday afternoon.

However, a number of potential jurors were dismissed for various factors Monday. Jury selection continued Tuesday morning.

James announced he granted a motion for a change of venue Tuesday afternoon after potential jurors returned from a lunch recess.
