Behind 17 strikeouts by Kara Anderson, the Claiborne Christian School Lady Crusaders (21-3) downed Hackberry High School 2-1 to claim their second consecutive LHSAA Class C softball state championship on Saturday.

Hackberry reached the championship game for the first time after appearing in the Fast Pitch 56 Tournament in Sulphur each of the last three seasons.

Appearing in their second straight title game, comfortable surroundings meant CCS was ready to roll and did so behind another gritty pitching performance. Anderson went over 100 strikeouts for the season for the third straight year as CCS needed to just the third inning offensive outburst to take down Hackberry.
