No. 1 St. Charles trips Sterlington title dreams The No. 8 Sterlington Lady Panthers exceeded expectations during the 2010 season with a return to Frasch Park in Sulphur for the LHSAA Class 2A state tournament.
Even while being denied championship gold by losing to No. 1 St. Charles Catholic 7-3 in the quarterfinals on Friday, Sterlington showed the grit and determination that brought them back to Sulphur this season.
Sterlington went toe-to-toe with the best Class 2A had to offer against St. Charles and took the top-seed to extra innings with the game tied, 3-3. For the full report, see Page 6B of this week's Citizen.
