Crime in north Monroe

The Monroe Police Department is investigating a number of burglaries in north Monroe where people have broken into homes while residents were asleep.

Lt. Jeff Harris said detectives have some "people of interest" in connection to these home burglaries. Police also believe the same group of people could be involved in the burglaries taking place at homes in north Monroe.

"There haven't been that many, but what we're concerned about is these people are going into homes when residents are there," Harris said.
