Joseph Jacola walked into the Kentucky Derby Saturday for the first time ever, made his bet, and pocketed $75.

The 72-year-old Monroe resident knew exactly what he wanted to do with his winnings. He took his son, Anthony, out for dinner that night.

If it wasn't for his son, Jacola wouldn't have made the trip to Churchill Downs.
