Local high school tennis teams took home district and regional championships over the last week. The Neville Tigers won the boys district team title while the West Ouachita Lady Chiefs captured the gold in the girls district competition.

The district championship won by West Ouachita was the first ever team title won by the Lady Chief program.

West Ouachita scored 12 team points to edge the 11 points scored by Ruston High School.
Neville girls were third with 3 points while Bastrop scored one point and the Franklin Parish Lady Patriots went scoreless. Abbie King of Ruston won the girls district single's title with a 3 set win over Sarah Gresh of West Ouachita. The score was 3-6,6-3,6-4.
