Library to unveil selection

The Ouachita Parish Public Library will announce the book chosen to be the 2010 "River Reads" book selection at a free announcement party at 3:30 p.m. Friday, May 7, in the Louis Lock Room of the main branch at 1800 Stubbs Ave. in Monroe.

River Reads is the library's summer reading program for adults that will encourage all area residents to read the same book, then participate in dialogue, discussion and activities that widen the understanding of the book's topic.

The program will include music made famous by Louisiana women performed by the Bayou Breeze Quartet. Refreshments will be provided The book was chosen by a committee of library patrons from a field of more than 70 books nominated for the summer series.
