Roughly 71 percent of Ouachita Parish citizens have participated in the 2010 Census, according to U.S. Census Bureau.

Participation by citizens in the state of Louisiana is at 63 percent, while nationwide, 72 percent of the country's citizens have returned their Census questionnaires.

All residents in the United States are being encouraged to participate in the 2010 Census to help Congress determine how to distribute $400 billion in annual appropriations.
