OIB to open branch in Drew Community

Ouachita Independent Bank has plans to open a bank branch in the Drew community in western Ouachita Parish.

OIB president Whitty Hood said the bank finalized the deal earlier this week to buy land on Arkansas Road in the Drew community.

OIB must first wait on approval from the state Office of Financial Institutions and Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. before the branch can be established.
