In honor of Donate Life Month, the Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency (LOPA) and Lifeshare Blood Center will be hosting a "Day of Giving" today at Anna Gray Noe Park.

Beginning at 2 p.m., LOPA will host a special ceremony for family members of organ donors and organ donor recipients. A prayer will be recited and forget-me-not flowers will be given to family members.

LOPA representatives will be in the park until 4 p.m. to answer questions about organ and tissue donation and sign up new donors. The Lifeshare bus will be parked in front of the main entrance to St. Francis Medical Center from noon today until 6 p.m.

If you are healthy and able to donate, please consider stopping by to donate blood. The community is invited to attend.
