Story Archives: Breland promotes Sterlington growth

Breland promotes Sterlington growth
by Scott Rogers - posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
The town of Sterlington has experienced rapid growth over the past several years, and town officials anticipate more growth in the future in light of the construction of a new elementary school.

That's according to Sterlington Mayor Vern Breland, who delivered his annual state of the town remarks Friday at Mulligan's restaurant at Frenchmen's Bend Country Club.

"We have great things going on in our town and in our region," Breland said. "I talk with (Monroe) Mayor (Jamie) Mayo all the time about regional efforts because what's good for Monroe is good for Sterlington, and what's good for Sterlington is good for Bastrop, and what's good for Bastrop is good for Sterlington, and so on."
