Thoughts are your master
I love to read. This desire was eased into my mind when I was in elementary school. When we lived in Tallulah, my mother would take Devone Jr., my oldest brother, and me to the library on many Saturday mornings. In fact, I read more than 100 books when I was in the first grade and my desire to read has remained with me from childhood until now.
I also read to gather information for my columns and books that I write. I have read "As a Man Thinketh" by James Allen countless times. He wrote this book in 1903.
Some of today's books that claim to have discovered secrets to hidden material are not secrets at all, but old information usually paraphrased — especially if the information came from the Bible. I love to read the Bible to glean material that relates to our thought processes. Philippians 4:8 is a verse that tells us what we need to think about and how we are to think. I do hope that I have the time in my limited years to write a book concerning thinking as related to the Bible. For the full report, see Page 6A of this week's Citizen.
