Food bank provides snacks for test-taking students
by Scott Rogers - posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
The Northeast Louisiana Food Bank provided roughly 2,300 students in six Ouachita Parish schools with snacks for Leap and iLeap testing this week.

Stacey Guidry, program director at the food bank, said parents are typically asked to provide money or snacks to classrooms during testing week. However, Guidry said many parents in poverty-stricken homes are not able to send money or snacks to give to students.

That's why the food bank decided to pitch in this week by providing six Ouachita Parish schools with extra snacks for Leap and iLeap testing, which runs through this week.
The schools that received snacks this week were Riser, Riverbend, Woodlawn, Lexington, Madison James Foster and Lincoln.
