Chamber names award in honor of Tom Scott
A Ouachita Parish business will be honored in May with a new award that recognizes growth and development over the past year.
The Thomas H. Scott Award of Excellence will be given to a Ouachita Parish business that has demonstrated a commitment to the parish by creating or retaining jobs, making a capital investment in machinery, equipment or a new facility as well as participation in community projects.
The Monroe Chamber of Commerce agreed to name the award after Thomas H. Scott, the founder of Scott Companies, which is headquartered in Monroe.
