Rebels, Lions square off
Two of the biggest rivals in Ouachita Parish will be going head-to-head this Saturday when the West Monroe Rebels (10-11) host the Ouachita Lions (11-10) at Shelby Aulds Field in West Monroe. Game time is set for noon.
The Rebels snapped a three-game losing streak last Saturday with a 7-3 victory over district 2-5A foe Pineville High School.
The West Monroe pitching staff had given up an average of 8.7 runs per game during the three-game losing streak before finally finding the control and defensive-minded play needed to take another district championship.
