Aldermen re-elected in West Monroe

All five incumbents of the West Monroe Board of Aldermen retained their seats while former Richwood Mayor Steve Hunter was elected again during Saturday's municipal elections in Ouachita Parish.

West Monroe aldermen are elected at-large, meaning the top five vote-getters are elected to the board. This year's board of aldermen election marked the first time since 1994 that members of the board were opposed.

The challenger, Kelly Lewis, a Republican, received 7 percent of the vote, or 164 total votes, according to unofficial election results from the Secretary of State's office.
