Business community to create parish portfolio

Over the next several months, the Monroe Chamber of Commerce plans to work with local businesses to devise an economic portfolio of Ouachita Parish.

According to Chuck Bradshaw, vice president for Workforce Development for the Monroe chamber, meetings will be held with local businesses and chamber officials to "learn about their company, and trends in their industry" to develop an appropriate economic portfolio for Ouachita Parish.

"Nothing is more important to Ouachita Parish's economy than the businesses that operate here generating payroll, local spending and taxes," he said. "The future of these individual companies will have a substantial impact on the growth of the area's economy."
