DAR hears program on flag code

The March meeting of Chief Tusquahoma Chapter of DAR was held March 13, at the Ouachita Valley Branch Library.

After opening rituals presided over by First-Vice Regent Mary Sue Mitchell, member Lillian Dunlap presented a program on The Flag Code. The code was approved on June 22, 1942, and Dunlap pointed out that no enforcement provisions are in the code.

Dunlap provided a hand-out that shows the correct way to display the flag. She stated several law cases involving the flag and presented several picture of incorrect uses and displays of the flag.
