Sterlington residents air trash concerns
by Scott Rogers - posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Much of the discussion at Sterlington Town Council's regular meeting Tuesday focused on trash as several citizens spoke up about some problem areas in the community.

Town officials expect a large turnout for Saturday's Great American Cleanup as almost 100 Sterlington High School students have signed up to participate. Mayor Vern Breland said clean-up activities will be held within the town's corporate limits from 8 a.m.-1 p.m.

Breland stressed the importance of keeping the town clean. He said town officials have entered Sterlington in the Louisiana Garden Federation's cleanest city contest. District judging will be April 1. State judging will be held in May.
