WM man arrested for insurance fraud

A West Monroe man has been arrested by Louisiana State Police Troopers in Baton Rouge for insurance fraud.

On March 19, 2010 LSP Detectives arrested Michael C. Olinde, 37-years-old from West Monroe, on charges of Insurance Fraud.  The arrest was the result of an investigation into a complaint made by Primerica Financial Services.

Olinde was a licensed insurance producer who sold life insurance policies for Primerica.  The investigation revealed that Olinde was fabricating policy applications in order to generate commission payments.  The policy applications were submitted with fabricated information or the personal information (i.e. address, social security numbers) of former or existing Primerica customers.
