Our words become our habits

When I was teaching school, I always wrote a daily quote on the board. We would spend the first 10 minutes writing a paragraph concerning the quote. I gave them two grades. One grade was for English and the other was for creativity. The more paragraphs the students wrote, the better they could write and think. As the year passed, they totally forgot that the writing of the paragraphs was for a grade. They became more interested in how words would stimulate them.

I used this 10-minute exercise in writing as fuel to light their latent desires: 1. For them to learn to enjoy writing. 2. For them to learn to express their passions. 3. For them to learn to think and 4. For them to realize how thinking influences their attitude.

The following are some of the quotes that were used in these classes: 1. If you want to have a friend, you must be a friend. 2. If you will give enough people what they want in life, then you can receive what you want in life. 3. When your image improves, your performance improves.
